We Want You to Smile

We Want You to Smile!

Where has the time gone? Another year has passed and once again we all find ourselves in the midst of tax season. That means that for many people, mailboxes and bank accounts are beginning to see those tax refunds. Yippee! A tax refund can feel like a much needed gift, bonus or jackpot win… whether a small or large amount, you suddenly have a bump in your budget, and an opportunity to invest in your future!

Before you go off and spend that extra cash, stop and consider our uncommonly brilliant idea for your 2017 tax returns. Use it to get that dazzling smile you’ve always wanted!

Just like using your insurance coverage to decrease your monthly payments, you can use your tax refund [and possibly health insurance coverage] to make your monthly orthodontic payments more affordable. To help you out even more, we are offering 2016 pricing for all patients who get their new smile started before April 2017! That means that those of you who put off braces last year can still get your new smile for 2016 prices… a $388 saving!

As always, our policy is ZERO down payment, ZERO interest, ZERO financing fees and ZERO credit check and we promise that will not change. While we never ask for a down payment, using your tax refund to reduce your monthly payments (especially when combining that with insurance payments) is a smart way to stretch your budget AND have the beautiful, healthy smile you’ve always wanted! Call us today: 417-625-1114 to schedule your appointment! Don’t put it off any longer, make 2017 the year you get that smile you’ve been longing to have!

And, remember that your workplace may have a “flexible spending plan” that you can use too.

Oral Hygiene Recall Program

Oral Hygiene Recall Program

At Uncommon Orthodontics, exceptional patient care is important to us. You may expect something a little “outside the box” from us to ensure our patients get the very best care possible. With that in mind, we will be providing a very unusual approach for patient care, something so uncommon that, as far as we know, is unique to us!

If you are a current patient with Uncommon Orthodontics, during the months of February and March your family dentist will receive our annual “Hygiene Recall Letter” from us. It contains your contact information and a place for your dentist to respond about your current hygiene checkups.

Partnering with your dentist

This may seem like an uncommon practice for an orthodontic office to provide, but as your dentist knows, it is crucial to the health of your smile. You see, sometimes patients confuse their orthodontic visits with their dental exams and begin “skipping” their biannual hygiene appointments. And while we always hold high standards for brushing excellence, we do not provide routine dental exams at each appointment.

For the healthiest smile possible, you need the expertise of your dentist to make certain little routine issues do not become big problems! By interacting with your current dentist, we are doing our part to ensure that when those braces finally come off, the teeth underneath will be vibrant and healthy so you can proudly show off that smile we’ve all been working so hard to see!

The annual recall letter is just another example of how we go “above and beyond” to serve you and ensure you receive the very best care we can offer. Your dentist, hygienist and your friends at Uncommon Orthodontics care about your smile and we happily partner together to make sure you are well served.

Meet the Team: Stephanie

Meet the Team: Stephanie

Meet Stephanie, part of the team here at Uncommon Orthodontics! Check out these questions that Stephanie answered for us:

What is your role at Uncommon Orthodontics?

I am a dental assistant at Uncommon Orthodontics.

What is your favorite part about working for Dr. Jamie & Uncommon Orthodontics?

My favorite part about working with Dr. Jamie is that she is so sweet and cares about all of the patient’s needs throughout treatment.

Have you ever had braces? If so, how old were you?

I only had braces once, and that was for an orthodontist in Tulsa, OK when I was 20 so that I could have the “patient experience”. It was fun!

What is one thing that not many people know about you?

Most people do not know that I am originally from Texas and have moved around many times before settling down in Oklahoma, and now Missouri. Most people also do not know that I am super shy when not in my work atmosphere.

If you could have any celebrity be a patient of Uncommon Orthodontics who would you want it to be?

I think Adam Sandler would be great, and I am pretty sure that we would be rolling laughing at the end of his appointment.

Do you have any pets? If so, what are they and what are their names? If not, what pet would you like to have?

I do not have any pets at this time. If we were going to get one, I would like another German Shepherd, or a baby monkey.

What job could you never do?

If I had to pick a job I could never do, I would have to pick be a singer. As much as I like to sing to my steering wheel, if you turn the radio down, it doesn’t come out like the singer’s voice.

What is the last movie you watched?

The last movie I watched was Toy Story, literally, I love the movie and so do my kids.

What celebrity has the best teeth?

The celebrity I think has the best teeth would be Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

What do you love about the Joplin area?

What I love most about the Joplin area is that there is plenty to do, lots of places to eat, and my family always has a great time!

Thank you for answering our questions! We look forward to the rest of your career at Uncommon Orthodontics!

Holding the line: 2016 fees

“Holding the Line” for you on Fees

Expenses seem to be rising everywhere (including orthodontic supplies) and we all know it is tough to stretch those dollars. We also know that some businesses raise their fees all the time and their customers/clients/patients don’t usually know the difference. Part of our uncommon financial policy demands that we keep you informed, so we want you to know our plans.

We will hold our fees at the 2015 levels throughout the summer. There will be a modest increase in September though, so now is the time to get started on that beautiful smile about which you’ve been dreaming. Whether you are a new patient or one who has delayed starting, we encourage you to plan your new smile into your budget now.

Finally, we remain committed to our ZERO down payment, ZERO interest, ZERO financing fees and ZERO credit check standards. Affordable braces continue to be a cornerstone of our uncommon financial protocols and even after a modest increase; they will continue to make your new smile possible! Contact us today for more information or to make an appointment before the summer schedule fills up!

The 2015 fees will be honored through Wednesday, August 31 at 5 PM.

Taxes Refunds & Smiles

Taxes, Refunds, & Smiles

We Want YOU!

It’s tax season, and Uncle Sam (sadly) wants YOU! “Nothing is sure except death and taxes,” huh? Seriously, we have an “uncommon” idea for you to consider “what to do” with this year’s tax refund.

Very much like using your insurance coverage to decrease your monthly payments, you could use your tax refund [and maybe insurance] to make your monthly payments even more affordable…and if you get started by April 30, 2016, you are assured of 2015 fees. Those of you who may have declined to start treatment last year for any reason can even use the “free records” offer that expired when you postponed your braces. That earns you an extra $378 savings! So, we can make your payments even more affordable than before.

Our policy is always ZERO down payment, ZERO interest, ZERO financing fees and ZERO credit check…that will not change. We never ask for a down payment, but using your tax refund to reduce your monthly payments (and even combining that with insurance payments) is a smart way to stretch your budget AND have the beautiful, healthy smile you want! Call us today: 417-625-1114 to schedule your appointment!

And, remember that your workplace may have a “flexible spending plan” that you can use too.

Retainer Replacement Program at Uncommon Orthodontics

Retainer Replacement Program

Your braces are off and your smile is beautiful…congratulations on a job well done! Now it’s time to keep that smile in perfect order by wearing your retainers. Of course, your original retainers are warranted against defect, but that does not include loss, damage, abuse or theft. In order to help you be successful maintaining your smile, we offer an uncommon answer to those common retainer issues. That answer is our Retainer Replacement Program (RRP.)

For a one-time fee of $189, your retainers can be repaired or replaced up to three times…with a small co-payment that will not change once you become a member. That allows you to replace a retainer quickly for a nominal fee and not interrupt the retention of your smile!

Make it easy on yourself…learn more on the link below and become a RRP Member today!

Uncommon Orthodontics reminder to use your benefits this year

It’s not a Buffet…It’s a Cafeteria!

If you work for a company that provides you any benefits at all, ask your manager or Human Resources Department if you can have a cafeteria plan [a.k.a. Flexible Spending Plan.] Under Section 125 of the IRS code, a cafeteria plan gives employees power in determining how their health care benefits are used.

Cafeteria plans, also called flexible spending plans, are some of the most overlooked and under used employee benefits…in part because they do not generate significant profits for the plan administering companies, so they are not publicized as much as the standard insurance offerings. There may be an enrollment period, usually at the beginning of each calendar year and you get to decide how your health care dollars will be spent. So, you need to call your HR connection right away.

Important advantages for employees include the opportunity to use pre-tax dollars for medical benefits, thus reducing taxable salary, increasing percentage of take-home pay and having more spendable income. They also offer increased deductions for dependent care expenses and cushion the blow from insurance increases in premiums, co-pays and deductibles.

One of the listed medical benefits under Section 125 is orthodontics, so you could get some help with pre-tax money (both state and federal) in paying for braces! When you think about it, orthodontics is one of the few medical expenses that have a predictable amount for annual expenditure. That would go a long way in providing that beautiful smile for you, your spouse or your children, and would certainly be an uncommon way to pay for orthodontic treatment!

Ask your HR representative today whether your company provides a Cafeteria Plan and then for their help with the rules and regulations your company might have. After you do that, call us and we will tell you how to maximize this free benefit. [417] 625-1114.

Board Certified Orthodontist: Jamie Signorino Board Certified PyramidBoard Certified Orthodontist: Dr. Signorino

Uncommon Care from an Uncommon Orthodontist

At Uncommon Orthodontics, we provide you with excellent care from a qualified and experienced orthodontist. When you schedule an appointment with Dr. Jamie, you will be seeing a Board Certified Orthodontist, also called a Diplomate.

What is a Board Certified Orthodontist?

Every orthodontist must be licensed by his/her state dental board, but not every orthodontist is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and awarded Diplomate status. Board certification is an exhaustive process based on the highest standards of orthodontic knowledge and skill. This process takes true commitment and dedication, which is rather uncommon! In fact, only about 34% of all orthodontists are Board Certified.

What does it take to become Board Certified?

The process of Board Certification involves numerous completed orthodontic cases that are closely studied by the Board and must be completed to the highest standards of excellence. Hundreds of hours of additional study are also required and there is both a written and an oral examination to evaluate diagnosis, treatment planning, and finished treatment ability.

Board Certified Pyramid

Taking so much time and effort to become Board Certified proves Dr. Jamie’s desire to be held to the highest level of patient care.

Contact us to schedule an appointment and experience the difference of an UNCOMMON Board Certified Orthodontist!
